A downloadable game for Windows and Linux

Welcome to Cubit!

This is the highly anticipated sequel to the world-famous raycore! We're back now with Bigger, Better graphics, levels, and everything. It even has multiplayer support!

Cubit is a simple walking simulator. There isn't much to do, just walk around and enjoy all kinds of environments from swamps, to deserts, to forests, and fancy palaces. The game supports both keyboard and mouse, as well as controller support.

How to Play

All you do is walk around a gigantic environment and enjoy cool environments! That's all there is to it. When you see a giant red exclamation mark like so:

Press the activation button on it, and it will take you to another level.

This game supports both keyboard and mouse, and controller support! I tested it with a Logitech G F130 Gamepad, but I think it should work with just about any gamepad you like. Anyways, here are the controls:

Keyboard and Mouse Controls

  • W - move forward
  • A - move left
  • S - move backward
  • D - move right
  • Mouse - look around
  • Left/Right arrows - look around
  • E - activate
  • Escape - close game

Gamepad Controls

  • Left Analog stick - move
  • Right Analog stick - turn
  • A button - activate
  • Start button - close game

Warning: this is version 0.1

There is no main menu or nice UI - you boot up and run! Please see the README.md files (./README.md, ./server/README.md) for more information on how to configure the game, or just ask me here in the comments. Why is there no menu? I basically built this game from scratch (with some major exceptions), and I'm frankly burned out. I just want this released and to call it a day.

  • The spaceman character was made by MatchaJoeJoe. He did an awesome job on the spaceman, and some other in-game assets.

Usage of AI Content

Alright, full disclosure - this game does have some AI assets in it. Some of the assets are made with AI, although I modified them to make them work in the game. I understand people will take issue with this, and that's okay. But the vast majority of this game was made entirely by hand - and it was a huge labor of love. After doing like a metric ton of pixel art by hand, I needed something to help me speed up the process.
